Poor Edwards. I think this typifies what his campaign will be like in the same way I think it typifies what the man is like.

Recently candidate Edwards’s organization put Amanda Marcotte in charge of the official John Edwards blog. She was hired no doubt because she holds a certain influence in the radical feminist and extreme anti-Bush contingents. These are two targets who are easy pickings for garnering support. Just mouth the right platitudes and they are all yours.

What is interesting is that this is one of the few times a ranting radical blogger has been lifted from their echo chamber to the national spotlight. Suddenly what was a cute “crazy aunt in the attic” sort of zealotry has to stand up to scrutiny. And in Amanda’s case it is found seriously wanting.
The story gets much better than that. We are now deeply into a sort of Watergate-esque attempt to cover up postings, delete comments and scour the Internet clean of Amanda’s insanity. An impossible task.
In fact the image shown here links to a screen capture of not only Amanda’s post but all the comments on the page after it. This is useful since things at Pandagon have a tendency to disappear.
What you may ask is causing all the trouble? Why is it that Amanda would be scrambling to hide her feelings? it’s a little thing really. See Amanda simply hates men and doesn’t believe that the concept of our legal system (innocent till proven guilty) is relevant. Further she knows damn well it isn’t relevant to rich people.

Amanda is the product of all the crap that has been coming from the left for generations now. She hates whites. She hates men. She hates the rich. She is the product of the class war and racial guilt that flows like water. The problem is, the people who created her don’t actually want her to be so loud about it. In a way I feel sorry for Amanda. She is about to find out that her heroes have never believed the stuff they have fed her all her life.

Very thoroughly written and informative article on the Amanda Marcotte story. Thanks! The links to ‘the Pandagon’ in your article were helpful in adding insight into the full spectrum of the ensuing hysteria from the loony-left and the extent they will go to in order to ‘protect’ their ‘religious’ beliefs. It was also sadly, disheartening to realize on a thorough reading of the ‘posted comments’, that even the semi-rational lefties that go against the liberal orthodoxy in the Duke La Cross case, still hold to their ‘absolutes’ on other leftist issues, and obviously can’t see their own hypocrisy when it comes to all matters ‘Bush’! (I find it amazing how liberals manage to interject GW into any and every issue of our day, no matter how remote.) There labored hand-ringing and ‘shame on us’ bemoaning was quite amusing, in a nauseating kind of way.
It seems poetic justice to me that an ambulance chasing sleazy lawyer like Edwards might just have his final and total ‘political’ undoing due to his support-by-proxy (Amanda Marcotte) of a legal ‘case’ based on false allegations, that went down in flames due to the actions of a DA, who could be aptly described as a sleazy ‘voter chasing’ lawyer.
As a Democrat and Catholic I think that John Edwards really screwed up when he hired these two bigoted bozos. I was thinking that he might be my choice for the next President, but after this fiasco he has lost my vote forever.
Not only is she one hate-filled idiot, but she bigoted and ignorant. After all the evidence shows that three Lacrosse players are probably innocent she goes into a racist rant about white people, especailly men. Racism and sexism is ugly even when it comes from one guilt ridden loony person like Amanda. Yes, there is racism and sexism, but clearly the case of the three Duke Lacrosse players was not one of these cases. She is guilty of being racist and sexist herself with her ignorant rants. What about equality and justice. Bigots hide behind racism and sexism, even when it is reverse. No I am not a white person.
Didn’t Edwards check out their backgrounds and read any of their bigoted hatfilled ignorant rants before he hired them?
Now she is trying to hide all her remarks. If she was proud enough to post them in the first place and stands behind them, why delete them? It is because she realized that she was a big fool in the first place and one narrow minded one at that.
