It was with mixed emotions I saw Amanda Marcotte take her leave / get kicked out of the Edwards presidential campaign. I certainly think it was a mistake to hire here and he is much better off without her but I’d be lying to say that I kind of wished the freak show had continued. When the time did come Amanda left with all the ill grace one would expect and immediately showed that her apology was the farce we knew it was.
When the time came for “shakes” to go I wont’ say I felt bad about it but I will say that in every way McEwan has handled the situation with significantly more grace and demonstrated much more intelligence. It is really too bad that she seems to be forever int he shadow of the louder and much more obnoxious Amanda.
That being said I think it is pathetic that some of the lower end scum on the net seam to feel compelled to send hate filled and in some cases threatening email to either of them. Not only is it pointless but it is stupid and childish.
I may not be allies with Marcotte or McEwan, but I’ll be dammed if these sorts of hate filled idiots on the right are my allies. The enemy of my enemy is not always my friend. Of course this sort of stupid and hate filled invective is not uncommon anywhere you look int he political spectrum. Not only is Amanda herself guilty of it but racist and hate filled email is a constant deluge for Michelle Malkin, examples are here and here.
Those who are sending that type of mail are idiots one and all.
