It ended just about the way it had to considering who controlled the forum it was happening on… with a post that managed to be simultaneously confused, accusatory, threatening, ignorant and chock full of the righteous indignation only someone who loves playing the avenging victim can muster.
Make no mistake ladies and gents it is speeches like this that people like Stormy live for.
The confusion is possibly most amusing as she lists the various definitions of a bully in blissful ignorance of how clearly her own actions fit the bill. It’s kind of stunning in a sad way really. This passage in particular is appropriate…
“Half the people in the gang are happy for the opportunity to behave badly, they gain gratification from the feeling of power and control, and enjoy the patronage, protection and reward from the serial bully. The other half of the gang are coerced into joining in, usually through fear of being the next target if they don’t.” – bullyonline as quoted by Stormy
It is interesting how much that last part (about coercion) so closely echoes my own analysis of the group dynamics inside Stormy / Heart and co.
“In such a group, if you stand up and say “this is over the line” you run the very real possibility of them turning all that anger on you, and they know all your secrets.” – my own wisdom
A little further down Stormy says something useful (even a stopped clock…) she simply predictably gets the actual roles being played entirely wrong. She is the bully here, and it was Ren and others who finally got tire of the abuse.
“The moral to this story is that eventually targets get fed up, and will fight back.” – Stormy again
Our girl Stormy is just so darned please with herself. She even gets to issue a final ultimatum and then right on cue Witchy shuts the thread down leaving the conversation ended on the most unhinged possible note.
“Trust me RE, you do not want to reneg on your promise, because discrediting you among your peers will hit you the hardest, that is still on the table.” – Still Stormy
However the secret lies there above. Of course to Stormy it would seem that the thing most to be feared is to be discredited among ones peers. Stormy lives in a social / political circle where infighting, paranoia and back stabbing are the norm. She comes from a place where purity tests are common and a single mistaken opinion will bring the dog pack down on your throat. She is sure then that all it would take is her posting some old words of Ren’s that seemingly disagree with those who think she is a smart, strong and independent woman and they will fall upon her the way Stormies “allies” would turn upon her in a heartbeat.
She is wrong.
Among groups where independent thought is welcomed and encouraged respect is tied into more than simple ideological purity and it would take more than the Stormster is capable of putting on the table to destroy the respect and admiration many feel for Ren.
