The Internet goes a long way to letting people convince themselves that they are part of a huge movement, even while people are largely ignore their fringe idiocy. A case in point is the 9/11 “troof” movement. These folks really believe that the majority of Americans buy into their paranoia – and it so, so untrue. When their fantasies meet hard reality instead of Internet forums and blogs they are hard pressed to accept it.
Anyway, these folks tried to call a “general strike” to force… well something they are never really clear about. Amazingly enough no one rational cared one little bit.
“Why not? Because not enough people participated. It didn’t send a message loud enough for the tyrants to notice. It didn’t put a dent in the corporate machinery or the “bottom line” or the machinery of government.” – delusions of relevance
So what’s the fallback plan? Something even less useful. Now they think maybe a strike consisting of 5 minutes a week will matter.
These guys are precious.
