Wasn't "trigger" a horse?
The word “triggered” gets a lot of play in the victim circles. In a very real way the term is the purpose of the whole philosophy pushed by them. They want the ability to somehow force you to alter your actions anytime it impacts them… and they get to be the sole arbiters of when that is.
Essentially they want to make you a slave to their moods. Of course if they piss you off they are just goign to blame you and your evil privilege. Anyway, someone named demonista is having a tantrum and doing the “goodbye cruel blog / community” act.
“I don’t think I can fucking handle some of the members in feminist anymore. I want to leave it and be done with it. see here: http://community.livejournal.com/feminist/2976447.html?thread=89612735#t89612735. warning: megan_julca posts a link that’s very triggering. i’m sick of this.” – from “When the going gets too tough, I think of giving up”
Now the reasons for all the weepiness seems to be another of your basic run of the mill inter-activist drama silliness. You know the type… someone gets bent out of shape and calls someone a tool of the patriarchy, then the mods get involved and someone screams “triggered”!
In the end, someone inevitably gets skull fu_ked and someone just has to read it all and wail about how upset it made them.
“i hope you’re fucking happy with yourself. i hope you’re happy that i’m crying and feel triggered. i hope you’re happy that i want to leave this comm. no wait, i’m not happy at that. i’m pissed. leave me alone. we can at least agree to leave each other be, no?” – demonista having a drama moment
Here’s a thought… before you read a story that starts with…
“You really don’t wanna read it. Though I’ll be impressed if you get all the way through. It was tough enough to write” – an actual warning
… then maybe you should stop. Especially if you know you are someone with the emotional constitution of a veal with staph infection.
Just a thought.

What a way to make me feel special, folks.
