One of the great things that the “9/11 Truth” movement in particular and a wider range of activists have in common is their willingness to ignore any sort of factual reality that gets in the way of their intuition. All you have to do is mix the following…
- A predisposition to draw conclusions you like
- The willingness to accept 3rd and 4th hand information as ‘fact’
- An almost complete lack of understanding of any science involved
- An almost complete lack of understanding that they don’t understand the above
- Some big words
Once you do that you get gems like the jtma508*, who claims that jet engines can’t go fast near the ground while discussing his conspiracy theories about 9/11.

Because obviously, jet planes never go fast close to the ground. That’s just impossible! Why am I not shocked that when a bunch of people with that kind of knowledge get together they feel that their conclusions are more accurate than those silly scientists?
* note: no word yet on whether jtma508 joins his colleagues in believing that reptilian aliens who look like humans live among us and that the moon landings were fake
