Idiotic concept of the day: “National Anarchist Conference”

One of the more amusing aspects of keeping an eye on the intellectually challenged members of the hers is the seaming variety of the lunacy. I say seaming, because there are some deep seated commonalities to it all. I’ll highlight one of those common points by quoting someone who has said it every bit as well as I could.

“In order to wield and profit from that power you need freedom, the protection of the law and a society that will tolerate you hating them. In short, you need to live in a society that has all the qualities you are about to accuse them of lacking.” – me, in an awesome article

So it is with “Anarchists” and many in the “anti-war” movement. Don’t misunderstand here… I know many people who oppose the current war in the Middle East who are not in this insane fringe. On the other hand… there are lots and lots who are. These people require many of the same attributes in a society as the radical feminists who so often overlap with their groups. Namely, they need the rule of law, basic freedom of speech and enough disposable time and income to make idiots of themselves.

bikebomr Frankly it is a sign of the strength and freedom we have here in the United States that we can provide all those things. In effect we have enough spare capacity that we can shoulder the burden of a small vocal minority doing their best to commit suicide and drag the rest of us down with them. They will use their free speech and the benefits of a robust economy that is easy access to widespread communication mediums like the Internet to scream that they live in a fascist state where “the Joos” control all the money.

It is in this context that we turn to the “National Anarchist Conference“. That’s right, on March 7-9 a whole bunch of “anarchists” got together to protest in Washington DC. They got together in sight of the seat of Government without fear of reprisal after using inexpensive uncensored mass communication. They got together to tell us all that we live in a repressive police state where dissent is crushed. That they don’t see a conflict between their fantasy (oppressed minority boldly standing up to fascism) and their reality (bunch of folks who have the freedom to communicate and protest) just shows how totally off the rails these people are.

Among other fun activities which no doubt included semi-clever political filking along with the ever popular “moronic repetitive chant” was sticker distribution. You can see one of those above expressing solidarity with the nimrod who attacked a recruiting center in Times Square earlier this week. The kinship is a natural as like “the bicycle bomber” the attendees of NCOR2008 were ineffectual and deluded.
