Those of you who read Herdwatching with any regularity have noticed the increase in post volume of late. These things come and go. Herdwatching is by definition a blog of observation and comment and it so happens that of late there has been a fair amount to handle. The election is driving much of this of course and the rise in the antics of the "9/11 truth" movement have provided many of the postings. When you add in the recent feminism race explosion it turns into a fair amount of grist for the mill.
As this election polarizes more around race there will be more postings centered around racial issues than there would have been otherwise. The feminist race explosion only makes the focus sharper. Then there is the problem of growing anti-Semitism within the "9/11 truth" community.
Much of this stuff is worth talking about, but it will attract a level of crazy I would just as soon not be bothered with. I’ll get called all sorts of silly names and there will be more mouth frothing than usual in my comments queue and on other blogs. Eventually some moronic white supremacist will drop me an "atta boy" message because he is confused that my thinking Obama isn’t good presidential material means I just must be on his side* and I will have to take time out to slap his sorry ass down.
Now doubt there will be much amusement to be had, and the sheer stupidity of the insults will make good posts themselves but I’d just as soon give it a pass, ya know?
Since that is probably a forlorn hope I might just call Mike Rowe up… Herdwatcher, it’s a dirty job!
* note: interestingly, I don’t get "atta boy" messages from male supremacists… the are under no illusions I support them. THis is a good thing.
